Ten years ago, on a bright spring day, we saw an amazing sight: an Anohana flower. We were out walking our dog in the park when we saw the most beautiful flower I’ve ever seen. It was so big and bright and had a beautiful fragrance. We took a picture of it and then went home to show our friends. Since that day, we’ve been keeping track of Anohana’s progress and how it’s changing. We’ve seen it grow in size, color, and fragrance; but most importantly, it has become one of our favorite flowers. We’re so grateful that we were able to see this amazing flower ten years ago and keep track of its development!
AnoHana Original anime receives a sequel
Mari Okada, a screenwriter, wrote the sequel ten years after the ending of the anime. As part of the big celebration for the 10th anniversary, the performance will be held on August 28, 2021. This is exactly ten years since the events in the series. The original voice actors will be performing again, and they will slip into their roles.
The sequel’s content has not been revealed in detail. This article contains the first visual, created by Masayoshi Tanaka as a character designer, and released in March 2021.
AnoHana, an eleven-part anime series, was broadcast on Japanese television from April 2011 to June 2011.

AnoHana Storyline
The story of a group childhood friends that fell apart after Meiko “Menma”, Honma, was killed in an accident is told by’AnoHana. Jinta Yadomi is the leader of the group and withdraws five years later. She now lives in isolation.
All that changed was when the ghost, an older-looking Menma appeared alongside Jinta one summer day. Jinta was asked by the ghost to grant her wish. If her wish is fulfilled, she cannot go to the afterlife. Jinta believed he was hallucinating and tried to help her only in small ways. Menma doesn’t know what her wish is, unfortunately. Jinta calls on his estranged friends for help in solving the problem.
Although some members were unsure of Jinta’s true intentions, they decided to help. Unfortunately, Jinta is the only one who can see Menma’s ghost. His friends believed that Jinta was just hallucinating and could not move past Menma’s death. Menma is forced to reveal herself to other members in order to prove her realness.
The group members attempt to help Menma pass over to the afterlife. They also unload their guilt and feelings of Menma’s death and begin to move on.
Characters AnoHana Season 2
Jinta Yadomi
Jinta was outgoing and energetic in his childhood. He was a natural leader and was an outgoing personality. However, he has become quiet and isolated since the deaths of Menma, his mother, and Jinta.
After Menma’s accident death, the group of friends began to drift apart and Jinta became a hikikomori. He refused to go to school and stayed at home.
Meiko Menma
Menma is a cheerful, kind-hearted girl. She has a very positive outlook and worries about Jinta Yadomi. Although she is very childish, it may partly be due to the fact that she was a child and was’resurrected’ recently.
Even though she is surrounded throughout the series by her friends, she can sometimes get lonely and upset easily. This is especially true when she visits her family to realize that she doesn’t belong to them anymore and she doesn’t have a home. Because Jinta is the only one who can see her, Jinta can only communicate with her using her notebook.
Menma would like to be able talk to other members, but she is not able to. Despite being “dead”, Menma is positive, energetic, and lively despite her condition. Jinta says she is selfless and often cries for others, even if they are upset or hurt. But not for her. Jinta refers to her as “the beast of summer”, since he sees her as a manifestation of his stress, not a ghost girl.

Naruko Anjou
Jinta “Jintan”, Yadomi is a person Naruko shows a cold attitude towards, especially in front of her friends. However, she is secretly concerned about his health. Naruko is described by her ability to be easily influenced by others. She will often follow the actions of girls around her, even if she disagrees with them.
Chiriko Tsuruko Tsurumi says that Naruko is the same person she was in high school. She can still be persuaded by anyone around her. Naruko is popular at high school, and she gets along with “sluts” Chiriko considers. Despite growing apart, Naruko still seems to be deeply concerned about her childhood friends.
Jinta attends the same highschool as her and she is close to him from the beginning of the series. She even dropped off homework for him when he refused to go to class. He tells her that he is not living up to his expectations, but she still has deep feelings for him. She even paints her nails before going to see him.
Chiriko Tsuruko
Tsuruko is a serious and logical person who can criticize others and, in particular, scolds Naruko Anaru Anjou for following other people. Chiriko is still indifferent about Meiko “Menma”, Honma’s return. She doubts her motives or has she truly forgiven everyone. Naruko learns that she is in love With Atsumu. However, she feels that he will never be her love again because she can’t win against Meiko. Chiriko believes that Meiko is irreplaceable, so she supports the effort to make Meiko nirvana.
He was guilty of Meiko’s murder and she suspected that he was using crossdressing to cope. She sketches often while she is not working, sometimes even drawing Atsumu “Yukiatsu”, Matsuyuki in Meiko’s sundress.
She is the second-smartest person in the group, even though she goes to the same elite high school As Atsumu. However, she is academically inferior to him. When they talk on the phone, he says she is “truly fourth in her class”, while she denies that she has to study. Chiriko tells Atsumu that Atsumu doesn’t know how difficult it is to keep up with him, implying that Atsumu excels while she must work hard to maintain her rank. Atsumu and Chiriko are shown together in the credits of the final episode. It is also revealed that Atsumu gave Chiriko his extra hairpin (the one similar to Meiko’s).
