Every Sunday, people were posting on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. It was insane!

Part 1 of Season 4 ends with a cliffhanger. Many people, including myself, have read the manga. I meant that I couldn’t control myself and wanted to know the ending of the series.

We have to deal with Part 2 of the final season since it was announced in January 2022. This will allow us to understand the ending and enjoy part 2.

This article will take a look at Season 4 Part 1’s ending and what to expect from Part 2.

We will also be looking at the Manga that has been completed so SPOILER ALERT.

Let’s get started!

Attack on Titan Anime Ending Explained

Season 4 of AOT was split into two parts. The first part aired 16 episodes every Sunday starting December 2020. It is expected that the second part will air 10-16 episodes.

The last episode of the first series was a huge cliffhanger. I couldn’t stop watching it so I began reading manga. But in this section, I will be focusing only on the anime.

The Beginning

The season began with an episode called “The Other Side of the Sea”.. In the first few episodes, the show explained what was happening in the rest of the world.

It described how Marley functioned as a country, how Eldians lived in Marley were treated, and how their children were brainwashed into believing that their only duty was to die in service to Marleyans. Marley’s Eldians were taught from an early age how to serve their country.

Some young Eldians are selected to inherit the Titans Marley owned or stole from Eldia. Gabi, a young Eldian, was not taught anything about Eldian history, how Titans were created and the conflict between Eldia & Marley that began centuries ago.

The fifth episode shows us the exact opposite of what we saw in the first episode. This time, Eren and Eldians were on the attack. Marley was also hurt when Eren appeared in the middle the festival.

It was so satisfying to see Marleyan soldiers being thrown at the mercy by Eldians, even though they were under attack from Eldians. That was my favorite moment of the season. Gabi looked at Eldians with the same expression Eren did when his mother was being eaten.

The Final Episodes Aot

Part 1 Season 4 Episode 4: Eren captures Pieck, Gabi, and forces them out to rat out their comrades. But instead, he is betrayed. This time Marley attacks Paradis Island to retake Eren Jaeger’s Founding Titan.

Paradis was again under attack, and all of Marley was there to support the Honorary Eldians. All of them faced Eren.

The Jaw Titan attempts to eat Eren, but fails. Eren transforms into his Titan and prepares to fight Reiner and the other.

Fan Theories Aot ending

There are many fan theories about a cliffhanger such as this. Many theories have circulated explaining how anime will end.

Since I’ve read the manga, I know the ending. But let’s see what fan theories are out there from non-readers.

One of the most intriguing theories is that Eren could transform into a TItian god. It is believed that Eren will eat eight other titans, ascend humanity, and then become a god-like figure.

Another great one is that time travel must exist. One incident occurred with Eren Kruger. He was the man who had Attack Titan back in Marley. Eren Kruger knew Mikasa’s and Armin’s names. What could have caused him to wish them a happy life and how could he possibly know their names?

One of the most popular fan theories is that Eren can see the future and past, and that he will be able to free Ymir from the Coordinate. Eren, the only one who understands the true value of freedom, is the one who can do this. This is also the case for all the Attack Titans before him.

Aot Manga Ending Explained

This section is not recommended for fans who are only interested in anime. Be aware of spoilers! We have warned you!

Isayama finished the anime in May 2021 and released the last issue of Shonen Jump. The manga broke many records and was the best-selling manga in Japan for a while.

The manga’s entire story revolved around Ymir, and the irony of Eldia’s strongest titan being a slave to its Eldian King.

Ymir could have killed the king who tried to kill her, and enslaved the entire village. However, after acquiring the Titan powers, she returned to him as his slave.

These powers allow the Attack Titan to see the future with the help of other Attack Titans. They can also manipulate the past by using these powers. It was obvious! All of this was Eren.

His father was forced to interrupt the Royal Families ritual by him and take the Founding Titan from his Royal Family.

He was also responsible for forcing his father to inject Eren with spinal fluid, and then to eat his father’s father in order to take the Founding Titan as well as the Attack Titan.

All this he did for freedom. He understood what freedom and paradise meant. Also, He offered Ymir a fair choice and allowed her to choose her own path. He freed Ymir from the Coordinate.

In the end, Eren was forced to give up his life and that of all the titans to free the world from this terrible power. This would render those who had misused it helpless and isolated.

Although Titans might have been a gift to this world, the people of Eldia & Marley treated them like weapons and material of power instead of humans. They suffered the consequences.

The End of AOT

Ymir and Eren ate Zeke together so Eren could do his own thing and suppress Zeke using Ymir’s powers, but still use the Founding Titan.

Ymir also ate Armin, and he reached the coordinate beyond the planes of life and death, where all the Titans are connected.

Armin persuades Zeke not to give up, and to find a way out of the ethereal plane. Together they succeeded. Zeke followed the example of all the titans who escaped Eren’s Titan form. Zeke let out a sigh, and his head was removed from his body. The blade was Levi Ackermann.

The rumbling stopped due to Eren’s inability to use the Founding Titan, without Zeke being in contact with him. The creature emerged from Eren’s body. Armin tried to keep Eren from the Founding Titan, but Eren was unable to withstand it.

His friends supported him and they attacked Eren together in Titan form. Mikasa entered Eren’s mouth and quickly slashed his head.

Ymir saw Mikasa murder the man she loved and loved more than anyone. This made her realize what freedom truly meant. Eren had erased all their memories of him speaking to them, telling them that Mikasa would save them all and eliminate all Titans from Earth.

After Eren’s passing, everyone was shocked to see the extent he went to protect his friends and freedom.

He took the steps and behaved in a way that was good for his friends, their long lives. He wanted freedom and he was granted it.
