What’s Happened So Far in DanMachi Season 3
DanMachi Season 3 got a major overhaul in nearly every aspect that could be possible, the characters, the music as well as the story. It was much superior to Season 2 which took a rather boring path that was not very appealing.
The story centers around Bell Cranel’s adventures who is a 14-year-old adventurer, under the goddess Hestia. In Season 3 Bell is out exploring the dungeons, and discovers a creature who he rescues. This is not shocking considering that’s exactly what he’s done in previous seasons. The creature girl has a vague idea of her past. She has feelings as well as an intelligent mind. This is something we didn’t see in previous seasons, where the monsters were depicted as a mindless, savage villains that Bell killed mercilessly in order to gain power. Bell was depicted as the white knight with shining armor. In the third season, we see an interesting twist to the plot and discover that the monsters do have the ability to think and have a heart.
Bell must overcome his desire to kill monsters with impunity and even goes to the rescue of other adventurers and monsters in order to stop their rivalry and hatred towards one another. The incident has put Bell’s name into the dust before the locals and everyone else. Their once beloved hero has been gone to dust.
The character development of Season 3 is truly something. We get to see the debut to Xenos (the speaking monsters) and Bell gradually maturing and getting to the point where Bell develops into an actual hero, not just fighting every episode. Bell experiences a rebirth related to his past fears (not ruining the story to those that haven’t yet watched it) and then slowly progresses throughout the episodes to become the hero he hoped to be. Season 3 ended in a thrilling finale which leaves plenty of room for season 4 to carry the story.
