Ymir is transformed into the Founder Titan and her physical appearance changes dramatically. Her female body is visible in this state. However, there are slight changes like the exposed legs of an unknown organism attached to her back. Her hair is unkempt, her facial features are missing leaving only her skull and features visible.

PERSONALITY Ymir Fritz

Ymir , a slave to the Eldian Empire was a person who longed deeply for freedom. She secretly released pigs from a pen despite knowing that it would lead her to her death.Ymir, despite all the above, was actually very submissive. After she gained the power of the titans she dedicated her entire life to serving the king Eldia (participating at wars against other enemy countries and saving his life numerous times). She later had three children with him, who would eventually inherit her power.The world was fascinated by Ymir’s personality because she was an ancient historical figure. Frieda describes Ymir as a “quite the lady” when she reads Ymir’s story to her younger half sister, Historia. Ymir is also praised by the Restorers of Eldia group as a deity and praised for the advances she made for their people. Eren tells us shortly before her death, that although she longs for freedom, she deeply loved Fritz. This explains why she was diagnosed with Stockholm syndrome.Marley’s citizens, on the other hand, believe that Ymir is an evil person. BIOGRAPHY Ymir Fritz

Ymir Friedrich was born a slave in one the many conquered countries by what would become known years later as the Eldia Empire. To prevent them from speaking, all the slaves had to have their tongues removed.Fritz, the tribal chief at the time, threatened to pierce each slave’s eye if he didn’t find out who let the pigs escape. It was Ymir, the slaves revealed. The tribal chief decides to punish her harshly by removing her eye and making her hunted like an animal. 

After being wounded and fleeing her pursuers, Ymir seeks refuge in a hollow tree, where she can escape from her wounds. She then ends up in a deep, lake. Once inside, a bizarre organism of unknown origin attaches to her back.This organism makes Ymir a Titan. Ymir is transformed into a Titan and kills his pursuers. The king sees her power and progress in his civilisation thanks this ability and allows Ymirmir to live. Sina, Rose, Maria, and Sina are his offspring.

Ymir was thus present in all wars fought by Eldia for the conquest of other countries. She used her power to subdue her foes and expand her reign. Marley is one of these conquered countries. Marley’s soldiers gave in to the will of the now-king Fritz after they realized he was too powerful. A Marleyan soldier armed with a spear tried to kill King Fritz, but he was stopped by Ymir, who threw the spear at him. But Ymir made the decision to give his life for the protection of the king.Fritz insists she does not die. But for some strange reason, despite her ability to transform into Titan and regenerate wounds, she suddenly dies. Fearing that Ymir would lose her power, the king ordered Ymir’s daughters not to eat their mother’s mortal remains. This was to preserve her powers and transfer them onto her offspring.

The nation of Marley convinced the Eldians that over 1820 year ago, Ymir Friedrich made a pact to the Demon Earth,. Eren Kruger believes that she was in touch with “the source of all organic matter.” Onyankopon claims that she was given her powers by the God who created all things. Ymir was able to obtain her powers and became the progenitor for all the titans.Ymir, the first of the titans was a great leader in her people’s progress. He cultivated the lands and built roads and bridges. Ymir passed away after a period of indeterminate time. His “soul” was then divided into nine descendants. His memories would continue to live on forever thanks to the Founding Titus Titan. The Titan’s memories will live on in perpetuity.

1820 YEARS AFTER

Grisha Jaeger’s sister was murdered by Marley officers. Young Grisha is given a history lesson by his father to remind him of the sins his people, Eldians, have committed many years ago.Grisha, aged 18, joins the Restorers Eldia resistance group against Marley. Grisha, along with his friends, deciphers ancient manuscripts to reveal the alleged great achievements of Ymir Schmidt in his time. The ultimate goal of the group is to invade Paradis Island where Ymir and his descendants fled 80 years ago.

Frieda, a descendant from the Fritz visits Historia at her farm home. Frieda tells Historia a story about Ymir Fritz and the Demon during one of her visits. However, in this story, he is called Krista. Historia is told by Frieda that she will behave in the future like Krista. She describes her as a loving, altruistic, and caring person. Historia loses track of these details because Frieda uses her power to erase her memories. It would be in the year 850 before Historia could vaguely recall the story. Historia would start to vaguely recall this story in the year 850.

YEAR 850

ARC OF SHIGANSHINA

After the successful operation to reclaim Shiganshina District, the Exploration Corps enters the Jaegers basement to search for the secrets Grisha kept inside. Eren and Mikasa, Levi, and Hange discover three books inside the Jaegers’ basement. These books, along with other details, tell the story about Ymir Fritz, the origins of the titans.

YEAR 854

PARADIS ARC

Zeke is on the brink of death from the Lightning Spear explosion that Levi thrust into him abdomen. However, Zeke sees Ymir of the Paths who heals his body with earth. Zeke is killed by the Lightning Spear during the attack on Shiganshad.Eren and Zeke make contact during the attack on Shiganshina. Eren sees Zeke in the Paths, and Zeke is in chains. This symbolises the pledge to renounce all war made by the 145th King Fritz. Eren then notices Ymir , who describes Ymir the founder, first bearer, and cause of the appearance the Titans in this world. Zeke orders Eren then to execute his Euthanasia plan. Eren, however, notices his brother’s intentions and asks Ymir for his powers. However, he ignores her. Zeke then tells Eren she will only follow her descendants, members of the royal household, and that as proof she has annulled his vow of renunciation to war, which was represented by the chains that bound them, Eren is shocked to see his arms chained. Zeke then proceeds to show Eren the memories of his father Grisha.Zeke sees that Grisha’s actions, including the killing of the Reiss Family, were instigated directly by Eren. This is due to the fact the Attack Titan, who doesn’t submit to the wills of the royal family, has the ability to interfere with the past to alter the history to his advantage. After Eren admits to seeing History’s future when he touched and kissed History, Zeke panics at the revelation that his brother had manipulated him.

Zeke tells Ymir that Euthanasia’s plan is to be executed. Ymir goes to the Coordinate with the plan in mind. However, Eren quickly breaks free from his chains and touches Ymir, accessing her past and allowing him to make his final decision. Eren shows Ymir his past and tells her she has two options. Ymir will either continue to serve as a slave to Fritz forever in that place, or she will make her own decisions as a free entity. Ymir embraces her, telling her that she hopes that the Attack Titan would give her a solution to her hatred towards Fritz. He assures her that Ymir is not a goddess or a slave. The only way to end all of subjugation is to destroy the world. Zeke tries desperately to stop Eren’s plan. He shouts at Ymir for him to euthanize Eldians. Eren then tells her that he is not going to force her to choose. Ymir’s eyes open with tears and an unimaginable amount of anger. She decides to make her own decision and gives her power to Eren. This causes the physical plane to be reconnected to the Jaeger head. Ymir is now the Founder Titan. The Titans on the walls are shocked when Eren transforms into the Founding Titan, and all the Titans in shock stop hardening.Kurz thereafter, Eren is leading the Titans in the Thunderclap execution. Ramzi sees an apparition of Ymir. This was the boy Eren saved just seconds before Marley was killed.Eren is conversing with his friends as Ymir appears beside him in the Coordinate. This suggests that he may be collaborating with him. After Zeke is killed by the Exploration Corps, Ymir can be seen watching the fights and later, appearing when Armin is taken captive by a titan. This suggests that she was directing the actions of the titans.
