Udo was hired to join the Marley military as part the Eldian fighter program. At the peak of the conflict that was fought between Marley along with his Allied Forces in the Middle East, Udo along with his fellow cadets were placed on the frontline with the aim of getting hold of Fort Slava. When Falco is wounded due to an explosion His brother Colt manages to save him and take Falco into the trenches.
Gabi is the one who asks him about his injuries and, along alongside Udo as well as Zofia they begin treating the injured man. The injury to his head led Falco to forget the circumstance they were in and Gabi reminds him that they’ve been fighting for the past four yearsand that to win, they have to be able to capture Fort Slava and sink the Middle Eastern war fleet. Zofia asks why the navy of Marley isn’t able to support them and Udo responds to her that in four years they’ve only been able to control the ocean, and with the loss of more than half their warships.
Disappointed by the circumstance, Udo presses Falco’s bandages in a frenzied manner, not realizing and Gabi scolds Udo while Zofia smiles. Falco asks why cadets like theirs are in the frontline and Gabi says that the commander Magath tests them to see which will gain the strength from Titan Battleship Titan and be able to participate in the battle to stifle Paradis Island. Udo and Zofia discuss the skills of the cadets. Gabi disproves this by saying that she, in contrast to her fellow cadets is prepared to take the Eldians’ fate on her shoulders, kill the “demons” who reside in Paradis and release Paradis “good Eldians” from their prisons.
When it is discovered that Allied Forces of the Middle East deploy an armored train and commander Magath intends to destroy it by sending 800 Eldian soldiers charge into firing of the enemy, in order to remove the threat that stops Marley from deploying his form-shifting titans. But, Gabi decides to take the initiative and ask Magath whether she can attack the armored train by herself. Magath does not agree however, at the young trainee’s insistence, she allows her to shoot. Udo observes Gabi’s success in the demolition of her armored vehicle but as a cadet Magath requires him to remain in the trenches.
The demise of the train covered in armor permits to the 800 Eldian troops to move on the enemy with the assistance of two titans Galliard as well as Pieck. In the midst confusion, Falco manages to find an injured Middle Eastern soldier, and begins to drag his body into trenches. Despite the protests from one of his supervisors Falco demands Udo to hand him an ointment to stop bleeding from the soldier. The soldier speaks and Falco exuberantly wants Udo for a translation of what he’s saying.
According to Udo the soldier is saying, “Don’t touch me, you’ll make me corrupt the demon” that his higher-ranking Marleyan officer finds hilarious. In the next few minutes, Magath announces the infantry’s retreat, since the air strike is set to start at the same time. Udo is present the moment when Zeke transforms a bunch of elders to titans that are thrown onto the Slava fortress, causing damage to the fortifications and devouring nearby soldiers. When the assault on the fortress is finished it is discovered that it is discovered that the Middle Eastern fleet is sunk however, Reiner Braun the Battleship Titan is badly injured. The war is over by the victory of Marley. Following the fight, Udo and his men are killed. After the battle Udo and his fellow soldiers take a rest in an adjacent Middle Eastern city. At the city’s waterfront, Udo addresses the issue in which Eldians are being a part of the titans, who may not be useful in the conflict. The group observes a number of wounded half-Eastern soldiers who are being taken to their home countries in order to provide evidence to the world of how cruel it is to utilize pure titans in conflict. When Udo kicks an object discontented by the precarious situation in which Eldians are, Reiner is seen yelling at Udo.
The cadets meet him with enthusiasm and with a smile, except for Falco. Gabi advises Reiner that they’ll shortly be able to go back in Liberius and invites him to join them in exploring the city for the moment. Udo does not think this is the best idea, considering that the commander Magath advised the children that they shouldn’t be in tents, however Zofia claims that she witnessed the commander leave. But, Reiner stops them, explaining to them that they’re too young to enter the stores in the area.
In the evening, Udo, his companions and superiors board a train to their home base in Middle East for Marley. Udo observes the other warriors be awed while Gabi succeeded in knock down the train in armor during the attack of Fort Slava. Following the mission, Udo returns to Liberio and is welcomed by his family in the area of internment. In the following days, he resumes his cadet training in the academy for military with his fellow students.
Along with Zofia the two, he praises Falco for his victory over Gabi in an e-rifle race as no one else in the course was capable of beating Gabi. In the next scene, at the entry point of the interment facility, Udo and Zofia talk with guards about the way Falco beat Gabi in training. They claim that it was the first time anyone has ever defeated her at any level. Falco demands that his friends not move, and one guard shows his surprise by stating that Falco could be the next heir to that of the Battleship Titan.
Following a short conversation among Gabi with Falco on what transpired, and shortly after Falco has left the area after which the other cadets make their way to the place in which the stage on which they will hear the Tybur family will give their announcement is currently being constructed. Udo is shocked when he finds out that the Tybur family will be delivering their message inside the interment facility and Gabi responds in the same manner, considering how many influential people from various countries are expected to gather in the area.
The younger generation believes that this could be a chance to make several nations around the globe be supportive of Marley’s cause. Udo says that some ambassadors of his Allied Forces in the Middle East are in Liberia even although they were in war with them prior to the last few days. Udo also says that while several nations in the world have a strong hatred for Marley but the hatred towards the Eldians is far worse and that to be a part of the interment zone would be an embarrassment. Gabi says that in the event that they do, they will remain close to them, but without doing anything, and they will prove that they aren’t monsters or anything similar.
The night prior to an festival of Liberio Festival, eminent Willy Tybur hosts an event that gathers the international ambassadors, who came to Marley to listen to what he had to speak about the issues facing the people on Paradis Island. Udo along with the other cadets were asked to serve as waiters during the gathering.
He is agitated when he is subjected to derogatory remarks from a few of the participants about his race . Then he accidentally spills wine onto the Kimono that belongs to Kiyomi Azumabito, one of the delegates from the nation from Hizuru. The woman gets worried about Udo in the fear of what could happen to him and pretends to be the one to have ruined his dress. The boy attempts to make excuses but the woman tells him to be quiet so that he isn’t caught out.
The following day Udo along with the other participants travel to the carnival with Reiner prior to attending the principal event of the pageant. After a few hours, he takes his place next to his warriors and his friends in the theatre designed for the occasion. In the wake of Willy’s declaration that he is declaring war on Paradis Armed Forces, Eren Jaeger is revealed as a titan at the ceremony to kill Tybur.
In the midst turmoil, Udo notices that Zofia was crushed by the debris of the building which the massive monster emerged. He attempts to confront her in an attempt to help her away, but Udo does not know that a crowd of terrified people is rushing straight at him in order to escape the giant and ends getting trampled by scared participants of the event. Colt is able to save the severely injured Udo and explains that the most important thing at the time was to rush him to a hospital.
