The Art of Sword Wielding

The flame breathing (Yan honoonoHu KoXi Kiyuu Hono no Kokyu?) is among the most fundamental breathing techniques. The breathing technique has been passed down from the Rengoku family since the time of ancient times and was handed down onto Kyojuro through his father. The Breath of Flame’s fighting style is based upon inflicting the most powerful single blows as well as combinations of them.

First Style: Wandering Lights (no Ichi no kata: Shiranui?) – Kyojuro fights his opponent at a high rate and kills him with several blows that burn his flesh.  This method was strong enough to make an entire train of passengers nearly go off the tracks for only a few feet. The second style: Blazing Sunrise (no ri Ni no kata: Nobori en ten?) is a single strike delivered from the bottom.  The blade’s point is circular. The third style is Dust Universe (Can Sa n no Xing Ka Ta Yan E the mo ba Zhang Zi Yo San Kata: Kien Banjo) – Kyojuro is swinging the sword downwards in an arch. 4th style: Reflection Of Blossoming Flame (no nouneri Shi no kata: Sei , no uneri?) is a single strike, which is swung from left to and the weapon drawing an arc that is centered over the head of the swordsman.  It is used to parry and counterattack in close proximityFive style: Flaming Tiger (no No Kata: Enko?) – Kyojuro is able to deliver a string of powerful sword strikes that resemble an flaming tiger, which is able to attack his opponent with great speed. Ninth Style: Purgatory (no Ku no kata: Rengoku?) The most effective method of breathing in flames.  A powerful, sharp blow the swordsman strikes from a high stance this method was powerful enough to leave a deep impression that smolders the ground upon which the blow was struck.  The adaptation of the film, the attack appears as an enormous flaming dragon with blue eyes which emit blue electrical traces out of its mouth.  When Kyojuro utilizes this technique in the film the setting appeared to be consumed by flames which created an infernal landscape that resembles purgatory. It also created an enormous swirl of fire and heat after the attack.

Its weaknesses

Rengoku is dependent on his eye sight when fighting, which caused him to lose the fight against Akaza. The enemy was able inflict a slash on the forehead of his opponent first and then inflict damage to the left eye of the swordsman. This meant that Rengoku did not strike a fatal blow, and was only wounds. The pillar was unable to block the attack of the enemy that struck his stomach.

This means that Akaza discovered that demon hunter’s blind location. Rengoku himself is unable to fight with his eyes closed. it is his duty to always be able to see the person he is fighting. This is the main problem with his style of fighting that is the model of contemporary Kendo that is, where the combatants fight only in straight lines without evading or turning.

It was in the Edo period that samurai were attracted to swordsmanship, and they began to follow certain rules, among which is to observe the movements of your opponent. It is important to observe through the eyes each movement of your opponent. Rengoku is also able to focus on the visual.
