Dragon Ball games have always been a dream of ours, and with the release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 this year, we can finally see some development happening. While we don’t want to see any new entries in the series, we would love to see some new games developed in the series. Here are our top five ideas for what could be in development:

  1. A game that takes place after the events of Xenoverse 2 and follows Goku and his friends as they fight against Majin Buu. This would be an amazing game to play and explore the world of Dragon Ball in a new way.
  2. A game that takes place before or after Goku’s battle against Frieza. This could be a great game to explore Frieza’s palace and learn more about him.
  3. A game that follows Gohan as he goes through his training under Piccolo. This could be an amazing game to play as Gohan struggles to become a powerful fighter like his father.
  4. A game that takes place during or after Gohan’s battle with Android 17. This could be an amazing game to play as Android 17 tries to take down Gohan for good.
  5. A spin-off title for Super Saiyan 3 Goku which would follow him throughout his training and battles with other characters from the manga and anime such as Vegeta, Frieza, Master Roshi, etc.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers

Fans from across the globe have been eagerly awaiting this highly anticipated versionof a Dragon Ball multiplayer asymmetrical action game. A team of seven civiliansteam up and break out from chaos in order for them to safely return to their world. Tosucceed, they must take on a Raider or be destroyed. This is the ultimate game of survival. And fortunately for fans, this one isn’t just a

hypothetical! According to Nintendo Enthusiast, we can expect an actual release ofthis game at some point in 2022.

Dragon Ball Z (VR)

Imagine being your favorite Dragon Ball character and going deep into the DragonBall universe to fight enemies and villains. Imagine the ground beneath you shakingas you charge up; feel your hands vibrating vigorously as the wind blows when youshoot Kamehameha. Wouldn’t it be amazing? Wouldn’t it be mind-blowing? Well, the truth of the matter is, it’s pretty clear that a game like this is possible.A sort of demo of Dragon Ball Z gameplay in VR was made and released exclusivelyfor the VR Zone arcade in Shinjuku, Japan. In this game, you can enter the virtualworld of Son Goku and engage in a ruthless battle against the terrifying Frieza, whounleashes a massive attack on you. In order to survive, you must counterattack andteam up with Goku himself. It’s not a complete game, but there is no question that Dragon Ball fans all over theworld would relish the opportunity to experience a more robust version of it in VR.Hopefully, this early arcade example is the seed of something bigger.

Dragon Ball Video Slots

More and more popular games with combat-oriented characters are making it into slotmachine game themes. Numerous sites now host a Street Fighter-based slot game, andthe games on Gala Bingo invoke everything from warring Greek Gods to WWEwrestlers. Simply put, characters from all different types of combat games andentertainment are now immersed in the world of slots. A Dragon Ball Z game wouldthus fit right in, and likely rise to the top (as the Street Fighter slot did) as one of themost popular, visible games in the category.

Some Dragon Ball fans have even taken it upon themselves to make their own themedgames in this category, such as Dokkan Battle Slots and Dokkan Battle Bingo. Whilethese serve as fun, unofficial examples though, we suspect fans would love to see thereal thing. Slots are internationally popular, and a true, licensed Dragon Ball gameamong them would garner a lot of attention.

Role-playing and puzzle games

Many fans would rave about an Assassin’s Creed- or Far Cry-style, open-worldadventure bringing the full Dragon Ball Z world to life on the very latest consoles. Then again, fans on the go might prefer simple puzzles, perhaps in the vein of theHitman puzzle games found on mobile devices. Or how about a revival of TelltaleGames and its narrative adventures built into the Dragon Ball world? What we’resaying here, basically, is that any of a number of popular modern genres and stylesthat have yet to intersect with Dragon Ball would do very well with the concept.

Dragon Ball games have been renowned for a long times and fans always seem todisplay enthusiasm for new titles and ideas. Most of the concepts discussed above arehypothetical, but we hope you agree that they’d make for outstanding experiences. And given how many Dragon Ball games we’ve seen to date, who’s to say these won’tall come into being? If and when major new Dragon Ball Z games do come to light, we’ll bring you theinformation here at NNTheBlog!
